Hi movie fans. To this post I warmly greet you!
The Broken , was written and directed by Sean Ellis, Guy Farley was responsible for the original haunting musical score, and Angus Hudson for the beautiful cinematography. The Broken was filmed mostly in London, England, and was part of the AfterDark HorrorFest of 1998: 8 films to die for
The first time I tried to watch this film I fell asleep because I was very tired. The second time I tried to watch it I was confused and did not understand what was going on, but I watched the first thirty minutes, replayed my favorite scene three times, and then accidentally started the film over again, but I was glad that I did because this third beginning I finally began to understand what was going on and I began to feel excited about the journey I was on, and could not wait to continue to the end. Once I had finished I still had many unanswered questions, but because I truly enjoyed the journey I did not feel angry, let down or cheated by the fact that the questions raised by the film were never adequately answered. This is unusual for me. I do not generally get into the the artsy/stylistic films where atmosphere and theme are more important than plot, but in the case of The Broken I ended the film feeling that it was perfect, and I added it to my top 5 list in the horror category.
